I picked up my Ovidrel trigger today. I have to give it to myself on the road to a wedding mid-day tomorrow. I’m so scared to do it. I really am. I have a phobia of needles, so this couldn’t be a worse situation. The needle is kind of large, too, so that onlt makes it worse.

I know this is going to be worth it, but right now, I’m playing the scenario over and over in my head. All I know is I can’t wait for it to be tomorrow afternoon!

And, yes, I know I’m a total wuss. I’ve made peace with that.

I’m totally into these gDiapers. Every review I’ve read has been positive. I like the idea of a hybrid diaper that’s still decent for the environment. And Babies R Us carries them. And Target, too! I didn’t know they both were stocking gDiapers (the last I saw they were only available through ordering online), so it’s just added to my positive opinion of them, as they’re becoming easier to purchase. And easy is good!

I am officially in love with the Amherst Baby Crib by Baby Craft. It’s beautiful and made in the USA! Can’t go wrong with that. And it’s affordable. Pinch me.

I have been to a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist. We’ve discovered that there is a good chance I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). I am on Prometrium to start my cycle up again, and on the third day, I will have blood drawn to test for different hormone levels. I’ve also started taking Metformin, a diabetes medication that will hopefully help my body to start regulating itself again. PCOS is all about testosterone and insulin, and Metformin should help with the latter. The doctors are convinced that all will be well with my body soon enough, though, in reality, it will never be “normal” again. I can deal with that. Now that we have some answers, or will soon enough.

In the end, this baby-making stuff is ending up much more difficult than we had anticipated, but we know it’s worth it in the long run. Good thoughts are appreciated!

The body finally seems to be evening out. It’s taken two whole months and almost another, but we seem to be getting there.

I got a very positive result from the ovulation test yesterday, so here’s hoping! Even though there are varying degrees of “Yes, you will be ovulating soon” from these tests, this was a definite, resounding “Yes!” At least we know that’s working fine!

The first month off birth control was not a particularly pleasant one. Well, at least the last part of this month. The cramping and the spotting for a week before my period is even supposed to start was especially annoying. Especially because I knew that signaled that I wasn’t pregnant.

It’s probably best that we didn’t conceive the first month. At least I won’t be super preggo at our friend’s wedding in late September.

Like I keep saying…there’s always next month!

I’m constantly doing research on what I should and shouldn’t be eating preconception and right after conception. There is so much to know that it makes my head spin! I always worry because of the state of our food industry is a little shaky–multiple food recalls, imports being tainted, etc. But then I wonder if the food was any better (or safer) in the 80s when I was conceived and born? Were the hormones regulated then as much, or were they not used as widely? Am I freaking out about nothing, really? I almost hope so, but I’ll still keep researching.

I feel like I’m becoming a little obsessed with everything baby–names, clothes, toys, carriers, etc. And we’re not even trying yet!

Perhaps it’s the planner in me–need to get everything ready ahead of time. Or it’s just in my personality to want to know everything there is to know about this so I won’t be surprised. But I know I will be surprised…a lot, I’m sure.
